We are currently working with NSW DPIRD to develop the Marine Estate Citizen Science Corner program, which will support libraries across the NSW marine estate to connect their communities with environmental education, citizen science, and local participation opportunities.
The program is designed to help build community awareness of marine estate issues, support safe and sustainable use of waterways, and provide clear pathways for people to get involved in real citizen science projects that contribute to environmental monitoring and management.
As part of the development process, we are seeking input from library staff located within the NSW marine estate. Your feedback will help ensure the program package is practical, relevant, and easy to implement within a library setting.
The resources provided on this page are a draft version of the Citizen Science Corner package. These include posters, activity guides, project information, and supporting materials that will form part of the final resource hub available to libraries.
Please note that the resources currently available for review focus on the water quality and marine pollution theme. Resources for biodiversity and habitat restoration are still being developed and will follow the same style, structure, and layout as those provided here.
This task will take approximately 20 minutes to complete: Your input will directly inform the final design and delivery of the Marine Estate Citizen Science Corner program.
