Marine Estate Citizen Science Corner – Stakeholder Feedback

The Marine Estate Citizen Science Corner package is designed to support the delivery and promotion of citizen science activities related to the NSW Marine Estate.

The program package is intended for use by libraries, councils and community organisations as delivery partners. It provides practical resources, guidance and curated links to support staff to engage communities in citizen science initiatives, including those with limited prior experience in marine science or citizen science.

Marine Estate Citizen Science Corners are dedicated spaces in public libraries that enable community members to:

  • learn how to safely and sustainably use local waterways and coastal environments
  • take part in real citizen science projects that contribute to environmental monitoring
  • build understanding of the benefits, threats and management of their marine estate.
